Model year by serial number

I am looking to find out the year that my machine was manufactured. Just for grins. I know that my dad bought it used in 1955. 10 ER #20647. I have been resurrecting it from my garage, inspired by some of my son's recent lathe work.Replace quill and headstock bearings, re-wired it with grounding, (original wiring included a non-polarized plug) and made some other improvements for wood turning. Charts I've seen only go back to '54 and I know it is much older.
Regards,
Bob

Welcome aboard.
Your 10ER would have been made in mid 1950.
We (many of us anyway

) would love to see pictures of your prize.

I have no illusions that he does. Thus the

in my post, and the good natured

in his response. It's all good.

I deleted two posts (duplicates) from this thread. They were posts that I do not believe I made but their contents remain thanks to others who quited "me".
For clarification, I have never said I thought 10E related posts cluttered the forum. I have, multiple times, declared that I would like to see forums dedicated to those items of equipment (like 10Es and Mark 2s) that Shopsmith Inc. never produced.

OK so I am guilty of extrapolating " I would like to see forums dedicated to those items of equipment (like 10Es and Mark 2s) that Shopsmith Inc. never produced " to include 'I do not like all this irrelevant(to me) stuff and wish it was elsewhere'.
As for those duplicate posts I had hoped that by calling them to your attention you might get a handle on why they were duplicated.
Apparently you do not even remember creating them at all.
Lost cause.

Dusty,
I won't quote you but having a Forum only for Shopsmith Inc. made Shopsmith tools would have other Shopsmith information creep in. All the Shopsmith tools and the different owners of the brand have a shared history. It would be nearly impossible to draw lines as to what could be discussed on a Shopsmith Inc. only Forum. Where would this Forum be. This site is owned by RLF Brands LLC. Shopsmith Inc was around from 1972 to 2009. My only point here is the machine and ownership has changed over the years. We all have different likes and desires when it comes to Shopsmith, but the Shopsmith is our common bond, be it the Mark V, Model 10 a SawSmith table saw or any of the many tools made over the years. It is here we look for knowledge or share our knowledge on anything Shopsmith. I for one would hate to lose you and your knowledge from this forum to a Shopsmith Inc. only forum.

I don't want to speak for Dusty but in the past I understood he would like to see another Forum section like we have for general woodworking, woodworking tool reviews etc. This new one would be for things like the 10's and other old era machines. Perhaps called "Vintage Shopsmith". I could support such an addition.
I have a 10ER but I'm not as in love with it as I am with my other shopsmith stuff and I wouldn't mind containing my postings on that subject to another forum section.

Thank you, Ed.
Yes, I would like to not have to filter out all of the "stuff" that pertains to other than the Mark 5/V (like the 10E, 10ER and Mark 2). ie, items not produced by Shopsmith, Inc.
I did not say ban those items. I said put them in a forum (Community, Beginning Woodworking, General Woodworking, Woodworking Tool Review, Maintenance and Repair). Eds suggestion - "Vintage Shopsmith" would do it just fine.
As for duplicate posts, when I quote a previous post in which I had posted, I do not consider that a duplicate. I quote so that others don't have to figure out what prompted my comments.
