I have a Model E Shopsmith and am interested in acquiring a live center tailstock. Question : What is the taper for the tailstock? I removed and measured the deadcenter and the taper is approx. 0.68" to 0.60" over length of 1.5" that doesn't appear to be a Morse Taper #2. So would a MT2 fit this model or is there an adapter?

MT2 taper is 0.04997 per inch.

Over 1.5" that is 0.749.

When measuring one really needs to get more than three decimal places.

Rest assured an OEM SS tail stock socket IS MT2.
