When I bought my 510 a while back I also received a box containing the shaper package and a bunch of knifes, the molder package with some knifes, and the router arbor and some bits.
Reading back in some of the older posts it seems most aren't too keen on using these on the Mark 5. I found an older video with Nick Engler using them and judging by his use, they seemed pretty straight forward and safe. He eventually added the speed increaser and really went to town.
If any of you have used these in the past, any tips or things to watch out for before I start playing with these things? My wife is eventually wanting some wainscoting in the living room and the cost for that stuff is ridiculous.

Molder works like a charm. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

YES! BUT, be careful and do not take too generous bites and feed sedately.

I’ve also used the molder head with good results, and no drama.

Have used it a lot. Very nice tool. You can tilt the table to get an infinite number of possibilities in profiles. I spin it very fast for the best results.

I used an old Sears molder setup on the Shopsmith to make moulding for a cabinet. It worked well. The one Shopsmith sells looks even more substantial than my unit.

I'd echo JPG's cautions, though. I worked quite slowly and methodically out of an abundance of caution, since I was quite new to the task. I used feather boards on the side AND on top. And I used the stop collar to ensure each piece was moulded to the same depth.

I would do it again.

If you wish to buy a new molder setup from Shopsmith, be patient. I ordered one and have been waiting months. Last notification said they might have it back in stock in February. Looks like a good product.

Be aware that the cutters changed recently(retention hole). I think they are not interchangable. I do not know why. IIRC therevwas an even older version in the model 10 days that did NOT use ball bearing clamping.

The new Shopsmith Molder Head requires different knives than the old molder heads. The knives are a different thickness. It also requires the Molder/Dado Arbor 505506 for use. The new head does not have a set screw to directly attach it to the spindle as all of the previous Magna/Shopsmith molder heads did.
