I finally changed by 2/3's full bag the other day. But before I could take it upstairs, I HAD to tape up some holes in it. The cause was the bolts around the bag area. So I covered the nuts with 1/2 inch furniture leg tips. I'm hoping that keeps the bag hole free.

Hi beeg,
A year and a half ago or so, charlese mentioned something similar. As I had just received my own DC3300, I went to assemble it with that problem in mind. My simple solution was to assemble the bolts the other way around, with the nice round heads against the bag and the nuts on the outside. I have had no tears. :D (except for the #$%& cats sharpening their claws on the bags!)

I WISH I had assembled the bolts, like you did. But it's together and I'm LEAVING it that way. :)

Hi Bob! No Kidding! a little "Great Stuff" has really solved my problem with holes i the bags. Tim had a better solution, but the bolt ends and nuts on mine were already covered with Great Stuff.
