Is the motor shaft in the PowerPro motor a typical 5/8" motor shaft or is it larger and maybe not hardened steel??

I think I have answered my own question. At least the important part. The motor shaft is not 5/8". It is 25mm (.984").

Why larger? Who knows.

The motor shaft may be steel but could be other metal possibly aircraft aluminum. The only steel that I could see would be the magnets on the armature. The rest could be non magnetic.

Because it is a 2 HP motor.
