Another ?

I have had this chunk of alder glued up and roughed out, and laying around the shop for about a year so I decided to finish it up today. We have some friends here from Alabama and it will make a nice gift to send home with them. I’m not exactly sure what to call it but maybe a candy bowl.

If you turn it upside down, it would make a very lovely plant stand!
Or maybe a holder for one of those gianormous round candles ...

It just proves there is absolutely nothing wrong with the SS as a lathe as was questioned in another thread that masonsailor2 spoke to. As with most tools, it is the operator that makes the difference not the tool.

Filled with some M&M's it would make a really nice gift. Pretty piece of wood and a classy finish.

Thanks Bill. The finish is just a few coats of ultra blonde shellac at a 1.5 lb mix.
