Hello again...I have the ss band saw with cast iron table. I have been trying to figure out how the miter guide could be used as a fence after reading posts on this. would someone be kind enough to post a photo of how this is done or give me some instruction. I sure appreciate it and thank you in advance. Tim

Others with more knowledge and experience will chime in soon, but if you add an extension to the miter gauge face, as shown on this page, http://www.shopsmith.com/academy/tblsaw ... /index.htm, then you can lock the miter gauge in the bandsaw table slot using the tapered screw in the miter bar. If your tapered screw is missing, you'll have to clamp the miter gauge in place.

Put the miter gauge in the left to right miter track, move it to the desired position from the blade and tighten the tapered set screw in the miter gauge bar to lock it in place. If you have a newer miter gauge that fits in the newer T track it has a washer on the end that needs to be removed so it will fit in the band saw miter track.

And here is the picture, the wooden extension is mounted on the miter gauge to increase the length of the fence.
