Maintenance - SS scroll saw vs jig saw

I've read that SS jigsaw requires oil to avoid potential damage in yoke.
Does a version of scroll saw (555220. table has blade mount jig) also require oil somewhere?
or any other maintenance/lube is required? like apply grease in gears?

Also, how would I adjust/use the tension knob? cw/ccw?
Would it automatically release the tension when the blade is changed? so it requires new tension setting?
or does it remember the previous tension setting?

Only the 610 Jigsaw runs the yoke in an oil reservoir. Neither the older A34 jigsaw for the 10ER, nor the newer scroll saws have one.

Here is the maintenance page from the older gray Scroll Saw manual, I would imagine that the newer teal Scroll Saw would be similar.

Yes, pretty much right in the middle of the diagram. And the part number, #502239, is the same in the newer teal model too, and looks like it was used in the jigsaw also. Haven't had my scroll saw apart, but the seal in my old A34 jigsaw is leather, They tend to dry out and get a bit stiff overtime, a few drops of light machine oil should get it supple and sealing again.

You can see the air pump seal in the second photo on this post, (it is leather)

JPG's scroll saw has different style of table (no blade mount jig). Is it a newer type? What were the improvements?

JPG's is older. The cast in blade mount fixture were an improvement.

Regarding tension adjustments IIUC the newer version does not require all that futzing. At least not for blade changes.
