Verizon new call filter system appears to be working

Verizon has had this for a while but as an extra cost feature. At the end of March they stated making it free with added features still costing $$ but what they have for free is working for me.
I had to get a new number back when I got the new phone and I was getting a lot of calls from people who were trying to reach the previous owner of the number. And a LOT of spam calls. For a while I was thinking I might have to ask for another number but held out.
I just didn't answer calls from people I didn't have in my contacts. If they did somehow have my cell number, and were not on the list then they could leave a message.
For the last two months the volume has gone down to 10 to 12 calls a week that went unanswered and assume to be robo calls or other such spam. Then I installed the software at the end of March and at this point I have gotten zero of these calls. So glad this seems to be working, I was getting tired of all the action my cell phone was getting.
