Mark VII caster assembly manual

Below are page scans of the Magna Mark VII caster assembly supplement. I suspect someone got something wrong here.

When I first got my Mark VII I wondered about the caster pedals. It seemed like they didn't work anywhere near as well as those on my Mark 5.

This manual supplement came with my machine, and the illustration on the first page matched my setup. Then I noticed that in catalog photos, the pedals faced the opposite way.

I bought a parts VII and found the pedals mounted backward as well.

I suspect this manual is the cause of the confusion, both with the illustration on page 1 and the hard-to-read orthographic on page 2 — unless someone can tell me why they're actually supposed to work this way.

There is no inconsistency between the two pages. The first page shows it upside down.

Good eye! I missed the position of the foot.

I have an Mark VII mounted on the old dust bin base and am looking for a caster set as described in this thread. Does anyone know where I could buy one? I can't seem to find it on ShopSmith.com nor Amazon or EBay...

Oh! Looks like you are talking about a real Mark VII. What I first put in below is about Mark Vs and 500s.

The guy in the link below advertises on Craig's List all the time. He has a ton of Shopsmith parts, no idea where he gets them, and he wants too much money for them. But I asked him about casters once and he was willing to come down in price and let me pick out a set. I'll bet that's the best looking set he had that you can see there in the picture in the ad.

You can see all his ads if you get to the Boston area Craig's List and search on Shopsmith.
