I also found this in the Mark V oiling section:

Before oiling, turn off and unplug your machine. Rotate the speed dial up to "Rout-Shape" range. Remove both screws located on either side of the belt cover and take off the belt cover.

My Goldie manual(circa 1962) clearly states to use machine oil(SAE 10 weight) on the movable sheaves.

Where is this SAE 30 advice coming from?

Also motor oil?(albeit Non-detergent)

I think a massive proof reading is indicated.(there are incorrect words used as well)
