A little high, depending on the accessories.

You don't have your location listed so it is difficult to put a fair price on it. Around here, that is a fantastic deal. Usually something like that sells for at least twice that money.

Location counts for everything when it comes to used Shopsmiths.

I'm located in Las Vegas, Nevada (whew it's HOT today).
Anyway I offered $700, tried not to low ball him, but not knowing the age and all...
Waiting to hear from him.

I just checked CL ads for Las Vegas and nearby areas, and I think I see the one in which you are interested. However, it made no mention of a belt sander. It does have disc and drum sanding attachments. The lathe duplicator is a valued accessory, if lathe work interests you.

Another 510 is also listed in your area, for not much more, and it includes a bandsaw and jointer, two accessories that might be of interest and offer more capabilities than just a lathe duplicator.

Most of the Special Purpose Tools (SPTs) such as bandsaw, jointer, belt sander, etc. retail for $600 or more, but finding them used for under $200 is usually possible.

You are in (or within a reasonable driving distance) of many large cities, so if you expand your search area you may find more good buys. I personally like to check the San Diego area because I have relatives there who I have asked in the past to make a purchase for me, and then ship the item to me.

Not knowing your woodworking experience, or knowledge of Shopsmith equipment, you may want to research the history and differences between the various models before making a purchase. The thread "Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More" by Everett Davis in the Maintenance and Repair Forum (https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/main ... 16113.html) is a very useful thread, as well as the other two threads that stay at the top of that forum. On the linked Google Drive is a document entitled "Buying a used Shopsmith v2.pdf" which is very informative.

Best of luck in your search and purchase.
