I find it rather odd that the only post on the forum that keeps getting constantly bombarded with the spammers is the "Todays Lesson" post. Is there some link in the post that is attracting these leeches specifically to that post? Can the moderators just delete the post and the spam will go away?

Lately that has been the case. Prior to Dusty's post the SPAM was random on many threads. Maybe it is more now. I think I would delete the thread and see what happens. May help in the short term but if there is no way for admin to block these automatic registrations or screen them it will continue at some level.
