I have a shop cabinet i built with a pegboard back. To store my Shopsmith Mark 7 fence i used a simple block with L hooks on the back. The L hooks keep the block on the pegboard. Then i just hang the fence onto the block. The weight of the fence keeps it in place.

I am looking for ideas that would hold the fence more securely. Something that would also look a bit more custom.

You could get a piece of the front rail the fence locks on to hang it on. Shopsmith was selling, on clearance, some of the older stock from the earlier Mark V 520's that did not have the magnetic strip on it a while back. You could check with them if they still have any or you may be able to find a used piece from an extension table.

Another option is you could try to replicate a front fence rail out of wood. You do have a Shopsmith which is good for making all kinds of things.

I don't know how well this would work for you but I'll show you how mine is hung. I have a piece of re-used plywood on a cleat. It holds a lot of my everyday sort of shopsmith attachments, this photo shows the rip fence portion of it.
Here is a little closer look at the fixture:
It was all made of scraps of plywood. The stack is both glued and screwed together. The screws are put in such that the front surface is clean, ie from behind if you will.

Without the fence there you see the rest of it:
Of course you could fancy it up but I was going for functional and it works great.

Ed - I’m in the process of creating French cleat storage in my shop and would really like to see the rest of what you have done with your Shopsmith stuff. I like what you’ve shown already. Mind if I copy some your ideas?

I'll see if I can get some fresh pictures in the next day or so. Tooooo cold to work out there without turning on the heater but should be able to get the pictures. It is just should not be, having a high of 16 degrees when it should be 50!
