Dubby Remake

I have a double dubby that is for a Dewalt hybrid saw I once owned. I intend to remake the platforms out of melamine sheet I can purchase locally at Menards. In-Line no longer makes this size due to liability issues I suppose.

To make it work on my Shopsmith 520, I will have to reposition the bar for the t-slot about 1" toward the blade side of the platform from current location. In other words, if I leave the bars where they are at, the pivot point will be in line with the saw blade. I understand I will have to get new bars that fit the Shopsmith.

As long as I don't change the pivot point in relation to the miter scale on the Dubby(s), I should still get the same accuracy, right? I will just make my platform over sized on the cutoff edge, then run them through the table saw blade.

I had ordered new sleds from Peachtree woodworking last year not knowing they were different size from mine. My platforms are 20"x18". Probably started at 20"x20" before they were run through the saw for size. I was intending to take all of the hardware off of my Dubbys and putting it on them. Completely different pivot point to scale ratios.

I am not sure why you can't use the same sled with the t slot bar moved 1" closer to the blade as you said. You would just need to make sure it is parallel to the existing bar. If you make a new table I would think that you would have to verify the angles.
NOTE: I do not own or have ever used a dubby. Comments are based on making sleds for segmented rings. I looked at there web and it seems very similar to what is used in segmented rings.

My platforms have some wear on them, mostly around the arc that the miter bar rides in.
