Shopsmith Forums

I was thinking the other day about how much we learn from each other’s knowledge and experience here in these forums and of course my late friend Bill Mayo came to mind.

We had been discussing that in a telephone call and he said that is so true. We hopefully learn from others successes or failures, yet some people just don’t seem do either and do things that put themselves or others at risk. We were talking about motor rewiring and things he had come across.

I saw this and immediately thought of Bill’s comments.

Thanks to each of you who take time to share with others here. We are all volunteers. No one is paid to help others here.

Thanks for all of you who have become mentors and friends.

That picture is a good one Everett. I would like to add a special thank you for all the work you have done restoring documents to make them available to all and preserving the Shopsmith history

I wish I would have joined the forum earlier and had been able to actually get to know Bill Mayo. I do feel I have come to know him through his passion we all share for our Shopsmiths. His legacy does live on every time someone links one of his posts to help someone looking for assistance.

Bill Mayo also sticks in my mind. I never met him but he gave me a hand several times with Shopsmith questions - how to install and align blades in my jointer (still the best process I've seen on the subject), providing a few parts when a 'new to me' table got damaged in shipping, etc .... to name a few.

Bill was a great resource to all of us and I certainly miss him.
