I have a wood chair leg to repair and I wonder if anybody has a better way to fix that kind of problem then what I’m about to do?
The leg is split diagonally and got fix with epoxy a first time. What I did at this time is rake the dry epoxy off from each side of the split with a Dremel sanding disc. Now
I was about to glue back the pieces together and use dowels to reinforce the job.

Is this chair so unusual or old or whatever that you can't make a new leg?

I'm curious why you chose epoxy instead of regular wood glue for this repair, maybe it's irrlevent at this stage.

I think the dowel is crucial this time because the mating surfaces must still have some of the old epoxy which won't help the bonding process.

Good luck!
