Hi!

New to the forums and a new shopsmith owner! (Actually, got a couple - I got a couple greenies for super cheap, with jointers and bandsaws and standard accessories), but just picked up what I was looking for, a "newer" Goldie with bandsaw, jointer, thickness planer, full 510 (I assume not 520, I need to look closer/look at the manuals) expanded table, mortise/tennon kit and standard accessories, plus a standalone belt/disk sander and separate 6.5" jointer, for 650. I'll be doing a read-through on the maintenance section and watching the suggested videos - I just wanted to introduce myself and show off my (hopefully) good score!

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Sorry your post was firsts answered by a hacker, it has been reported.

The Goldie you show the Belt Cover Vent/Serial Number Plate for was made sometime in early 1962. It is simply a Mark 5 that may have been upgraded at some point if it doesn't have the original table system. Mark 5's made before the beginning of 1980 were Mark 5. Within the first couple of months in 1980 they began using Mark V on that plate. It wasn't until the introduction of the larger table system in 1985 that there were different models. The Mark V 510 and 505 had the new larger table system and the original table system became the 500. More picture of your Shopsmith would reveal which table system you have.

It seems there are a number of bots on here...I'll get some photos of the setup once its all back together from being moved - I followed some very helpful instructions from here on easy field-disassembly for transport! very helpful vs towing a trailer!
