I have two used Power Stations. Both have the same problem when the carriage return is moved as close as possible to the motor in order to connect the Band Saw. The carriage lock doesn't work when moved to the right. It does lock when it's further back on the stand. As it slides along there is a grove and he metal is lipped but as it moves forward to the motor that lip is no longer. The latch won't lock because there isn't enough metal to press against, I believe. Is there a fix from Shopsmith or does someone in this forum have an answer?

Where is the hub on the Band saw shaft?

I'll check my Power Stations tomorrow with my Band Saws to see if I can see what problem there may be and get back to you. Happy Easter.

Assuming this is a legitimate question:

The carriage moves much further than is required to mount the bandsaw.

The carriage should NOT be off the 'lip' when mounted.

So I have to also assume the coupler is not OEM or perhaps not even there?

A reply from OP will help further discussion or lack thereof will stop it altogether..

As I said I would I checked this out. I have 2 Power Stations and currently 3 Band Saws. Using an OEM Coupler I cannot repeat the problem Mike is having. I believe JPG's assumptions are correct. Below is how it should look when mounted correctly. This is a picture I borrowed and not my tools. Do note that the carriage is not all the way to the end of the center slot closest to the Headstock.
