I need to cut hundreds of wine corks and champagne corks mostly length wise. What is the best power tool and blade to cut wine and champagne corks?

I'm thinking a band saw using a very thin, high tooth count blade. Suggestions/experiences please.

You could use a scroll saw. It uses a finer blade than a band saw.

What ever you use, a sled with a V-groove to hold them would be a good idea,

I did this a few years ago to make a cork wall out of wine corks for a closet I am using to store wine. I used a band saw with a sled against the fence, easy and fast to make. It went pretty fast and turned out well.

Thank you, That's what I was thinking. I have seen a lot of comments where people soaked the corks in water to keep them from breaking or falling apart when they were cut. Do you have to do any of that or just a jig and the band saw?

No, I was not very careful. I used a 1/2" Woodslicer blade and just quickly ran them though using the sled. Only a few were unusable but probably only four or five out several hundred. I guess it will depend on the quality of your corks. The ones I used came from fairly inexpensive wines that got consumed within 5 years of when they were bottled so the corks were in good shape.
