Can you tell what model this is?

I’ve found what seems like a deal on a used Shopsmith - and someone is telling me it is a Mark 7. When I look at the photo, it looks like a Mark V. Can anyone tell definitively from the photos?

It is a MK5 Model 500.

Thank you for the quick reply! I am trying to figure out if the person selling it is a scammer, or if I can really get this amazing deal... Good to know it’s not a 7!

We can narrow it down a little more if all the parts I can see are original. It is a Mark 5 made prior to 1980. It has the extra saw blade opening near the edge of the table which was discontinued in 1980. In 1980 they also changed the name to Mark V. Since it is gray, if original paint, it was made after Magna American Corporation changed from the Goldie colors to gray by 1964 but it was probably made in the 1970's by Shopsmith Inc. It has the original table system and after the introduction of the larger table system with floating tables of the Mark V 510 in 1985 the original Mark V became the 500.
A Mark 7 has the larger table system with the pro fence of the Mark V 520 plus the Power Pro Headstock with DVR motor and double tilt ends. It will look like the picture below.

The shape of the red handles speaks 1970's SS Inc.
