Greetings,
I am a new member and have been in the process of restoring an old Greenie I have known since I was a teen. I will be turning 60 this summer. YIKES....doesn't seem possible.

I am trying my hand at starting a new thread (no electronic wizard here!) and will post the one photo I posted in a separate thread.... Thank you all for your patience as I learn to navigate this forum. Feel free to let me know if I should be posting this elsewhere.

Most restorations are posted in the Maintenance and Repair section but here is fine too. You can search for them to see comparisons to yours. By the way your 1954 Greenie was made in July. Welcome to the Forum and keep us posted on your progress.

Good timing on this thread! I just finished up reassembling my 1954 restoration project last weekend (SN 263705), and was hoping to show it in front of some interested parties. I've had a lot of folks suggest I take the next step and upgrade to a 520 table system and/or the dual-tilt mechanism, but frankly, I like it just the way it is! Was going for showroom new, and I got about as close as reasonable to that.

Next up is restoration of a full set of contemporary SPTs. Lots to do...

Sorry if the pictures are poor quality - the interface doesn't let you upload with much resolution.

First I agree with the previous posts!

As for interface vs resolution, you posted at 640x480.

The interface limits are 2050 x 1180 - almost 2.5x!

There us a showcase thread which I will point thee to as soon as I can locate it.

Beautiful work! I'm curious to know if you used the 'close match' Rustoleum products or something else? Polished aluminum and steel portions are excellent, they look better than new.

That is a beautiful restoration.

 With the Power Pro upgrade you kept a high speed lock feature which they originally had in the "A" headstocks. :D
