Center Point for Lathe Drive Center

Hi, I need some help...
Which direction do I drive the Center Point from the Lathe Drive Center? I assume I would drive out from the inside, but want to confirm before getting physical.
Evapo-Rust is my new best friend. I would like to remove the Center Point so that I can touch up the spurs on the Drive Center.

My first(and only) guess would be to drive it out from the inside. I assume the point is tapered going
into the arbor. I.e. inside 'end' has smaller od.
P.S. Penetol is your second best friend.

Wow, someone really did a number on those spurs.

Wow, someone really did a number on those spurs.
Yup, that is what I was thinking. Those spurs won't hold anything. Just chuck that and buy a new one.

By grinding the remaining material to form somewhat smaller spurs.

OK old school. Fix it any way you can and make it work. I am good with that. For me NOW I would just buy one on eBay.

I can tell you assume everything thee need is purcasable. Ain't always the case. Someday you may wish thee had more practice with irreplacable parts. I simply like to make unsalvagable stuff usable. Not always the same function sometimes.

Thanks everyone.
The Center Point can be persuaded out from the backside. There is a very slight taper; about .008 measured with my cheap calipers and inexperienced hands.
The Drive Center is very soft - a couple passes with a 3 sided file removed the rolled over edges and another few cleaned up the backsides well enough for me.
The spurs do not need a cutting sharp edge - their function is similar to a flat head screw driver, not a knife.
