Shopsmith Forums

New to the forum and just wanted to say hello to everyone. Finally went to the ShopSmith classes a couple of months ago; met a few fellow owners. I finally got my help kit (it was on back order) and was able to get my alignments done, so its time to play ;-} Just found out that Rick is no longer with ShopSmith ;-{ and traveling AC is now closed down.

I hope that all you experts don't mind helping a newbe/beginner shopsmither ;-} as I am sure that I will have loads of questions.

Welcome Ande,

I'm sure you will find all the help you need here. This is a very friendly and helpful group. Many of us have decades of Shopsmith experience and I doubt there are many questions you can ask that someone on the forum can not answer.

Again, welcome and ask away. You will usually get a response within a day and most times within hours of asking.

Welcome to the wood shop. It is good to have you with us and I am sure you will always get an answer to any question you ask.

Sometimes you'll have to discard a few of the answers but life is like that .... .....you often have to make hard decisions.

You didn't say, are you new to woodworking or just new to the world of Shopsmith.

Either way, what ever you do ....make your sawdust safely.

We are a friendly bunch here on the forum from newbies to oldsters with all kinds of experience and always willing to help out one another. What part of the country are you living in. Now that you got everything lined up, start making sawdust and enjoy. We are all hoping that things will get better for Shopsmith and they can get back doing the TA's and sawdust sessions.

I wanted to add my - Welcome Ande! Have no worries about asking questions, Everyone here was a beginner at woodworking at one time and a Shopsmither also. I might add - we all (everyone) are still learners.

Where do you call home? (can't be NJ if you had the TA pass nearby).

It is sad about the recent loss of the TA and Saw Dust Sessions. I know I would have changed my plans this past summer and gotten out to Ohio for the owner's week one way or another if I had known it would be my last chance (at least for a while).

At any rate, there is still much woodworking fun to be had! Please ask your questions, I find I learn alot from the forum's answers to other guys' questions.

Glad to have you with us. I hope that you do knot mind getting advice from some of us who are knot experts too! We also look forward to hearing about your experiences. Wow, cool to see so many replies Let me see if I can answer the questions. Dusty we met in the Tucson class the other month; beginner at both, I have been teaching myself woodworking for a couple of years, just starting out on the SS.

I live in Sierra Vista AZ, and no I do not mind getting answers from any and everyone that has a answer to my problems, that's what so great about forums; exchange of information.
