Here's a set of plans for a portable, knockdown shooting bench that is a perfect accessory for shooting at a primitive range. Made from 1 sheet of 3/4” plywood, and can be assembled in seconds as either a right handed or left handed shooters bench. The plans are a 7 page, 6/7Mb PDF file, and can be downloaded HERE.

My Upper Peninsula "Workshop in the Woods" has a 100 yard rifle range right out the door. I have an 8' x 24' concrete apron and I shoot to an elevated dirt bank that I had an excavator friend build up for me.

My present bench is a folding model that I purchased from Cabelas. It's portability is nice, but it is not rock solid. I've been looking for something more substantial that I can set up outside, but yet portable enough to bring inside during the Winter months.

Hi,

While I no longer shoot I can see this is a well thought out design.

And reminds me of a time long ago when there would be these contests for making things our of a single sheet of plywood. One of the designs was a picnic table and I built one to put out in a sun porch we had at the time. The three kids would use it for art and craft projects and snacks. You could take it apart and take it with you to a park or on vacation... we litterer wore it to bits.... so when I saw this it brought back a lot of nice memories, thanks!

Try putting this in your browser line, it should take you to the link for the plans. http://vbwhiz.isa-geek.net/plans You may have to copy and paste it to your web browser. I was able to access the plans without any problem. Hope this helps as it is a nice looking bench. Mark,

Thanks for sharing your plans. Being pretty new to (getting back into) woodworking, I am finding out that the "devil is in the details". Working out the plans and cut lists to see how much wood one needs for a project usually takes me more time than the real fun of making saw dust. I will be putting this plan on my " To Do List" as well as your B.P. Pistol Stand/carrier.
I must admit to being a S.A.S.S. shooter that has been slowly regressing from the "Modern Category" to the "Frontier Cartrige Duelist Category". as soon as I aquire a few items, I will further regress to the "Frontiersman Catergory".
Do you have or know of anyone with plans for scaled down wagon wheels?
