Welcome to the forum. That is a nice looking machine. It is a Shopsmith Model 10ER made in 1950. It should clean up nicely.

We can help if you have any questions. Just ask!

Thank-you John, I appreciate your help. For some reason I have always wanted one, sp when this came available, I thought $150 was pretty fair! I am looking forward to digging into it, and glad i found this forum.

Welcome to the Forum.

As John said it is a Shopsmith Model 10ER made in 1950 and late 1950 actually. Although the Logo/Serial Number Plate says Model ER it is a Model 10ER but that is another story. Your Model 10ER was made in the eastern plant. There is a lot of help to be found here on restoring them. If you need a manual for it you can get a PDF copy from this Forum in the Maintenance and Repair section for Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More by Everett Davis. This will be one of the first three topics. In it you will find a wealth of information on the Shopsmith tools. Some are directly linked there and others are on “My Google Drive” with documents too large to be directly linked. Everett has become the Shopsmith historian by saving and restoring manuals and other documents. You can access the Model 10 information directly at the link below.

Get the manual for the 10ER on the second row. Although not completely the same as far as parts lists and the exploded diagram goes, it will match your Shopsmith Model 10ER better than the 10E Manual on the first row.
