Attached...........(Hopefully) is a photo of a finished "scrap wood project" using a Rockler Travel Mug kit. The mug was made entirely from five pieces of
3/4" scrap wood (red oak and redwood) that was glued together to form a 3 1/2" square by 7 1/2" long block of wood. From there, it is turned round, and as much as possible is drilled out, then turned/fitted to allow the 16 oz Stainless Steel insert to be glued in place
I plan on making on making about 3 more for Christmas Presents!
Save Those Scraps!:)

Nice work, only proves there is no such thing as scrap wood, just material looking for a project.

Thanks for the idea and photo.

You need to get on the Rockler mail list to get a catalog. These people have some fantastic ways of eliminating all your loose change.

Actually I do, plus woodcraft, Grizzly, Hartville, plus others I have no idea how I got on their list.
Problem is I don't always have the time to go through them page by page- chasing a three-year old around the house always seems to dominate the majority of my time. But I'm determined to make a loft bed for her one of these days - I'll probably have to work in the middle of the night to get it done but who needs sleep anyways.

I looked through my last two Rockler catalogs - couldn't find these mug kits.
This is another reason this forum is so valuable!
