Sawsmith 2000 Table saw - Replicated some hard to find parts
Posted: Fri Nov 20, 2020 5:27 pm
Hello. (UPDATED 4-17-24)
In addition to my Shopsmith, I also own (inherited) a Sawsmith 2000 Table Saw. Over the years, there have been some parts that have broken/failed and are not readily available to purchase as a replacement.
I'm a CAD designer by trade, with mechanical and equipment engineering experience. I've combined that with my 3D printer to reverse engineer several of the components on my Sawsmith 2000.
Contact me if you need any of the following (reverse engineered) replacement parts. Please refer to the Sawsmith 2000 parts list document(s).
Here's what I have available currently that I've needed or others have asked for and I've reverse engineered and tested (also refer to images attached):
I 3D print the parts with PETG plastic (strong like ABS but UV resistant.)
Items for the Carriage Pull Rod Assembly:
516457 Locking Collet (3D printed PETG Plastic)
516458 Locking Hub (3D printed PETG Plastic)
516459 Collet Plate (3D printed PETG Plastic)
517988 Isolator (This is a 3D Printed set of parts that replaces the isolator, requires you still have the two threaded bolt components from the Isolator)
Item for the Bevel/Angle Adjustment Assembly:
516461 Locking Hub (3D printed PETG Plastic)
Contact me if you need something else not on this list and we can discuss if I can help to get a design modeled for printing (I can PETG plastic 3D print, but there are other sources out there that can 3D print in metal, for example.)
Best Regards,
Chad M. Wall

UPDATE:
I was shown an actual version of the Locking Collet 516457 by one of the members and updated the 3D printed part. This is the updated (Corrected version now.)
