That's a nice piece of artwork. I have seen these kits at a few WW shows and have always been intriqued but they were a bit costly for my wallet.

Starting one from scratch would be a real challenge, but the results would certainly be rewarding.

The picture is beautiful. There is nothing diminutive about starting from a kit. The kit gives a guide to your own creativity. It takes time, talent, and skill to gather the components and create a lovely result. I often put my own work down as I have started using a tracing from another artist. I'm then reminded that the tracing, pattern, picture, kit, all give a starting point to artistic creativity. The picture is beautiful, that's what counts.
