Table Alignment (Maybe)

Just fishing for feedback:
All four trunnion bolts are loose (finger tight - allows table to float)
Using the quill, the table is pushed right until you feed resistance
Check Dial Indicators

It's certainly an intriguing approach. How are the dial indicators calibrated to ensure that the roughly 0.002 difference between the two dial indicators is legit? What happens to the measurements if you swap the position of the dial indicators? What happens to the measurements if you turn the sanding disk?
Obviously you are aware of the normal method of using a single dial indicator to measure the distance to a single spot/tooth rotated to the front and back of the table so that run out is taken into account in the measurement.

Key to this approach is calibration(indicators/plate/table-slots).

I'm not sure this approach works. I've done a compete alignment three times and am not ready to run with any of the results. I'm about to repeat the procedure again but this time with my calibration disk. I suspect the sanding disk.
To answer one of your questions about the dial indicators. I zero both at the same location and then seem to be able to use them interchangeably. The repeatability of the dial indicators is as much a function of the dial indicators as anything. The two that I have are not of equal quality.
Rotating the sanding disk is probably not an acceptable practicse. I find that my saw blades are more true than that sanding disk. Maybe if I took all measurements at the same spot (same tooth so to speak).

Did you try your calibration disk yet? If so did you get better results?

This is a Double Tilt. No "big set screw".
