My tool rest has gotten a little rough. So I wanted to repair it and started to look for the instructions, because I THOUGHT I knew how.

I searched for hours to find this, so I thought I'd post it here for future reference and others.

Thanks for that post. While not a turner, the few times I tried I found the chisel did not move smoothly (maybe it was Me). I will now tkae a look and see if my tool rest needs a bit of work.

Thanks for sharing the information. I have touched my tool rest up a few times by using a file and then a coat of wax. I will have to try the additional steps before I do any more projects. I know that the first time before I took the rough spots out, it was making for some hard turning. Never gave it any thought that Shopsmith might have a solution for this issue.
