I am beginning to assemble the legs to the body and to the rockers. Screw holes drilled and counter sunk. Any pros or cons to gluing these in addition to the screws the plans show? I don't seem ever having to remove these pieces. Other comments?

I would assume that a rocking horse will receive extensive play, creating motion an all directions on the joints. I always glue the joints in the toys I make. A tight fitting joint helps, then I either use a screw or a dowel to secure the fitting. If I use a screw, I try to use a wood plug, to prevent the screw from falling out after time, or being played with. Have fun.

I hope it does get some good use. The body-to-leg joint fit is good so the glue joint and screws will be just fine. The leg to rocker joint is not as tight because of the leg-to-support angles. The legs do have a transverse dowel that the screw will penetrate and hold as it enters the end grain of the "hoof".
