I have watched Jacob Anderson's video on reassembly of the headstock and specifically reinstalling the speed controller. However, he does not explain where to position the speed dial indicator when screwing in the new controller. Or perhaps I missed it. Could someone please help me with this?

The Bill Mayo document on improving the speed control includes that information and is recommended reading when working on the speed control anyway. See the first post in the first thread under Maintenance and Repair and click on the Bill Mayo pdf: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=16113 Consider, if you haven't, incorporating this improvement. The short version is to reassemble with everything set to fast. Ideally you'll perform a High Speed Adjustment afterward if necessary.
