So besides needing a little tlc you are missing parts.... the shaft should have the pinion lock (ref #166) 504260, the pinion knob (ref #168) 5052619, the table height handle (ref #167) 513058 and the flat washer (ref #169) 120388.

Without these parts the table will not lock.

A quick guess is you are missing about $20 worth of parts or maybe they are in some box somewhere???

Were you able to look at the exploded parts list for this model 500 carriage assembly? If not you need to...... if you want me to I can take some pictures of what this should look like and what the parts are that you are missing but I will not be able to do that for about 20 hours........

Besides a few parts, it looks like your SS could use a little rust removal and a good waxing. There are a few guys on the forum that have restored Mark V's in much worse condition, and I know they'll be glad to give you pointers. When you have your machine back in condition, I'm sure you'll make lots of sawdust for years to come. :)

Hi again,

Well this is a little earlier then I thought I would get to this but I know you will not mind.

I have two pictures here, one show the assembly, the second is the parts you are missing plus the table height lock which you do have.

Hope this helps.
