Anyone looking for a router? I just got an e-mail special from peachtree.
http://www.ptreeusa.com/edirect_121208.htm
Hard to beat a dual base 2 1/4 router for $124.99

I haven't heard many reviews of the Freud router but I know many people use their 3 hp one in router table setups.

In the woodnet forum, they are saying you can get the same router kit for $99.00 at Lowes

Peachtree folks need a new ad manager who can do basic arithmetic!:D

Last time I checked $249.99 minus $124.99 = $125.00 NOT $124.99.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Just Bought One

That router at Peachtree is a good deal, but better at Lowes, $99.00 plus tax, includes free shipping. Check out the features, I bought it with a 1 yr. replacement for $9.00. I thought it was a good deal.

Can anyone tell me will this router mount in a Overhead Pin Router from SS?

I know this router has an depth adjustment lead screw that is mounted on the side. I'm wondering if it can still be mounted in the OPR clamp. Or can the lead screw be removed without destroying it?

Also how is this router? Any good or is this a deal I should pass on? I saw it at Lowes for $99 so I may go that route if I can confirm with will mount in the OPR and it is worth the buying

Ed,
I just checked Peachtree and seems they have sold out of the router. For what it's worth I use a Porter Cable 7518 in my table router and the Porter Cable 690LRVS in my Shopsmith OPR. I think it is hard to beat the collet system that PC uses. You will find some good prices on new PCs on ebay.

Go to amozon.com and type in routers. read reviews on different brands. this one does not show very good. it would look llike porter cable or bosch would be the ones to get. i am looking at the bosch for $207.00.. I am the lucky owner of an older craftsman the i cannot keep the bit tight. Wood magazine has reviews and they are saying all craftsman are that way. making a frame this week , have router mounted in table and about 12 inches into a dado i heard machine change pitch. yup, the bit had moved up. bit is clean bore in router clean .. according to wood magazine it is the nature of the beast...... Maybe santa will show up with a router gift card...................

Ed, I think the router must not go over a 6" diameter and recommended HP max out at 2 HP in the OPR.
This is from memory. But I'll look it up for you from my manual later.
