I am happy to see it is assembled and ready for some use. I hope you will get to check it out as you recover.

David,

Can you post a picture of your double tilt ends to show the difference you referred to?

DLB had asked for pictures of my double tilt bases because he wanted to compare them to his. Of which he suspected were different. So I provided them but would like Russ I'd like to see what that difference is.

JPG,

You know me, I like to see any changes made in the Shopsmith Tool and accessories. My Double Tilt Bench Ends that I bought a few years ago look like the OP's (KCollins). David (DLB) has said his are different and he bought them two years ago. I am curious to see the difference.

Mine are like this:

Double Tilt Base2 (2).JPG
Double Tilt Base2 (2).JPG (219.23 KiB) Viewed 2021 times

There is a plate or bar, Aluminum IIRC, inside threaded for the two mounting screws and for the lock/unlock screw. The casting itself is not threaded. The difference, I think, is that mine appear to be made from a 'traditional' Base Arm while the newer ones might (?) be a different casting. Otherwise, my knobs have double start threads and there is an o'ring to keep them from vibrating out. I think that is common among the designs. Very unclear to me why mine are different from both older and newer versions. Until I saw the OP's I thought these were latest and greatest.

Oh yeah that's interesting. I should move my Mark 7 into drillpress mode and have a look inside.

Here is a picture of the Tilt End Lock Knob in the casting. I unscrewed it a bit so you can see the extra material molded around the threaded hole.
