This is project of mine from a few years back but I wanted people to see it as I will be removing it from my Flickr photos soon and it will no longer be in my collection. (I have been informed that my Pro account will now cost me money or I will have to do with a free account which has less everything... so I'm starting to do away with sets).
This was not my idea but shared on another forum. I did this for my wife's Dad who still lives at home at 93 years of age. It was done mostly with the router using a pattern of my design. The saw hardware I ordered from Ace Hardware and yes it is real saw hardware.
He has had so many comments on it... a nice way to start a conversation at when out and about. He wasn't so sure when I gave it to him but now it goes everywhere with him. He did some wood working in his younger days so it fits him just fine.
I want to make at least one more... for me if I get old enough to need it.

Hi Ed,
You showed us this before. I really like it! It is some fine craftsmanship. I like your "new" signature too! As far as making another...knot meaning to be insensitive...I wood hope that you could get this one back by the time you will need one.

Hi,
Sorry if this is a re post for some of you...
Some of the things I will be posting in the next while will be the things with very few views... this past one had 17 views since it was posted on June 3, 2006. Somethings will just pass away out there but a few I wanted people to see and if it interests them enough to have them make one then it great... if not well then so be it. About 70% of the photos will be going in the next week or so.
I will not go through all the effort I did the last time I had to move things and I'm not going to update threads posted here or at other sites... they are just going to be dead links.
Well it was fun while it lasted.

I'm going to share this one with my neighbor. Dabbles in woodworking, mainly carving, but he makes canes for people all the time so i think he'll enjoy this one.
I use a cane on uneven terrain, so I might have to add one to my collection as well.
