Finished rebuild

Many thanks to those in this forum both past and present that helped me navigate through some sticky spots on the Shopsmith rebuild. I got this Mark V 500 from a fellow in Virginia in March for $300. It was a mess and hadn't been used in some time, having been stored in the rafters of his shop. It cost $431 for parts, paint, etc. The most expensive parts were the missing caster set and new poly wheels, a replacement used case--broken eccentric bearing ears, and a 3-way handle upgrade. It came with a double-bearing quill. I replaced the quadrant assembly and the speed control dial (used).

Jeff,

You have done a great job. I hope you enjoy using your now like new Shopsmith for years to come. By the way from the serial number it was originally made in March 1982 and now reborn October 2021.

Fabulous job! It will always be that much more meaningful to you down the road because you brought it back from the grave.

Wow! Great job.
Now I think I need to run some routine maintenance, then wax and buff my equipment until it looks almost as new as yours.
