pattern cutting on table saw

This is one of the mysteries of life... I was sure I posted this here before but my searching doesn't find it. I see Nick later did a Saturday morning segment on this but I haven't watched. I was about to make the Flickr photos go away when I decided I'd post them here... some people with out high speed connections might find them useful.
You will notice that the saw is not a shopsmith but that matters little. This is from when I got to teach my older brother how to do this. He makes hundreds of birdhouses every year... and I mean like 800 to 1000. It is all done with scrap wood and sold dirt cheap in his yard. People stop by pick out what they want and put the money in a little metal box on the honor system.
The pictures are clear enough as to how it all works but if you have questions ask away.
I'll brake this into two posts so all the pictures can be shown.

A couple of notes here. The pattern was made so the hole made by the top screw also locates the bird house entry way... and this is the inside so on the back the screw holes are inside out of sight.
On this one I think I use a 3/4" offset but it might have been 1" and the bottom wasn't cut but it could have been had my brother not already cut these pieces to length.

Excellent photos Ed.
800 to 1000 bird houses!
Your brother has Jimmy Carter beat for building habitat if you go by numbers.

I keep telling him he needs a logo and some tag line:
"Shelter the homeless birds of America"
or
"Bird Habitat, built in America for American birds" (I think I just sold one to Tim)
You might get to see one or two of his bird houses get shot up this summer in a movie theater near you. No idea if it is in the movie or on the cutting room floor so we are all waiting for Public Enemies to be released 7/1/2009.
BTW this is not only for birdhouses...

Ed, these shots in this thread don't look like they were taken in your shop.
Did you move into a larger shop where you could have a standalone table saw?
It is none of my business but I'm noisy and can't help it.

The pictures were taken at my Brother house and his $88 made somewhere table saw. He had a rockwell but the motor when out and they wanted $460 I think it was for a new one... couldn't rebuilt the old one.... so he said to heck with that and stopped and pick this one up. Hard to believe anyone can sell a new table saw for $88 but they do. For $88 I was impressed, this is his second season on it so the price per year has dropped to $44, if it makes a third year it will be $29.33. I think my cheapest blade costs more then that... and my expensive blades cost more then the whole saw(which included a blade).
Yea if he were not 400 miles away I'd be shareing tools for space with him.
