PTWFE Brochure
Shopsmith, Inc. has continued the tradition of publishing updated versions of Power Tool Woodworking For Everyone to show their newest innovations in the Mark series of woodworking systems. For a period after they restarted the brand, they also continued the tradition of producing a brochure to advertise the availability of that book, a tradition started by the Magna team with the publication of the original blue volume for the Model 10-ER.
Below are examples of this advertising flier for the Model 10-ER, Mark 5, Mark V.

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
Sorry I took so long to reply. Yours look great by the way. I believe the air lines that I have are the original too. Look like yours also. Looking for a parts one, the base has a crack where the bolt holds the one mount tube. I don’t have the papers for it like you do, but did come with a new diaphragm gasket for rebuilding it.
I also have the newer air system too.
Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
There are a couple of them on eBay now, including one very early model that has the rubber coupling extension integrated with the flywheel. That part is broken off, so this is likely a good parts candidate. https://www.ebay.com/itm/185747291772?m ... media=COPYSkullsquadronX wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:32 pm Looking for a parts one, the base has a crack where the bolt holds the one mount tube.

How do you like that? Do you find it to be useful, as opposed to a small pancake compressor? Always wondered…

Another JIG SAW… What about the first one??
As a collector of unique Magna items, I’ve always been envious of those folks who’ve acquired their 10-ER with an A-34 jigsaw in its original box! I know those old-time original Shopsmith owners were often really careful with their original documents and packaging, but I always considered the jigsaw box to be a bit of a unicorn.
Well, I was lucky enough to pick up a 10-ER last summer from the son of its original owner - I was interested in this unit for its complete 4E jointer and mounting kit, but when I got there, this turned out to be the prize of the acquisition for me!
. It even had the original shipping label from Magna (OH plant) to the hardware store where the system was purchased.
. The box isn’t in great condition, but it more or less looks like all the others I’ve seen, printed with, “Another JIG SAW”. That got me wondering: what happened to the “first” jigsaw??
Well, that was answered through a recent eBay acquisition:
. Aside from not having the word “Another” printed on the box, the Article Number (Montgomery Ward’s part numbering system) is missing the “K” suffix of the obviously later (“Another”) box. Not sure of the reason for this Article Number change, as both of the jigsaws contained in these boxes were the early style (with no partial belt cover). One mystery solved, another rears its head…
What can I say? Gotta collect ‘em all!

It is alright. Have really used it. It did have the filter in it and it’s no longer available. They recommended use lawn mower air filter witches works well. I did notice that it seems to run hot what little bit I did run it.
Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
…guess I just got “another” one.
Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
Wow, that’s a beauty! Don’t think I’ve ever seen one without the typical water stains in the cardboard. Did the jigsaw also come in such good condition?

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
The box is in great condition for its age. Mine is more like John's with wear and a water stain. Your Jig Saw looks sharp too. I like the red in the logo on the cover plate. I considered doing that but haven't done one that way yet.

That’s a gorgeous color. Great job with the restoration! I’m also a fan of the red logo highlight…
Is the main color an off-the-shelf one available in a spray can from my local hardware store?
