My Growth Rings with Scott Markwood
SHOP NOTES: Named for the inventor, Mr. Bill Bittner, the Bittner Nut solved the problems that I always had with the knobs on my shop-made Jigs & Fixtures:
- They can be expensive,
- They can be weak,
- That can be uncomfortable to turn, thereby making them hard to tighten or loosen,
- You never have them when you need them
The Bittner Nut was shared by Bill during a Shopsmith "Sawdust Session" way back in the late 1980s and these homemade knobs have been irreplaceable in my shop ever since.
BTW, the "Bittner Knob" can also be used for mounting cameras, such as the GoPro.
