Uncommanded logout

Post by jsburger »

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this in the last few days? It has happened to me 4 or 5 times in the last three days. I log in and I am reading new posts. All of a sudden with no input from me I get logged out. I realize the forum will log you out after a period on inactivity, but this is happening while I am actively navigating the forum.

I've been meaning to post about this, John. I have been seeing this very thing for the last several days -- but only on my laptop (Mac) and not my iPhone.

Even when I select the "remember me" function when logging in, I find myself logged out on my laptop not only between sessions but often during a single session!

For instance, when logged in on my laptop, if I go to reply to a post, I am sometimes getting the message I need to be logged in. Then, when I try to log in, it will tell me my login info (all of which is in my laptop's saved login file) is incorrect and then if I enter the same info (from the same file) again, it is accepted.

It's something I've never experienced before on my laptop and I've visited the forum just about daily (and often more than once a day) for many years (not that I'm a Village Elder or anything :D ).

OK, so it is not just me. I use my lap top 99% of the time for the forum (Win 10) never my phone. I use the desk top in the shop but haven't logged in there in a few days. I was browsing today and all of a sudden all the forums/threads with new posts didn't show as having new posts. Checked and I was logged out. The other day I was making a comment and when I hit submit it went to the log in page. This has happened 4 or 5 times in the last few days.

Just happened to me twice trying to post a reply. Since I use a Mac and you use a Windows machines, I'm sure we aren't the only two having this issue.

We are both using lap tops but I doubt that is the issue either.

Not seeing that happening here. Use both this machine (W10) and my laptop (W11). Firefox 98.0.2?

Well, I was using Firfox 98.0.1 on my Mac. Just updated to 98.0.2. Will see if that fixes it. I use Safari on my iPhone.
