1950 census.archives.gov

Post by reible »

Rainy day here in IL and since the census is available I have been busy looking at things related to me. They used a computer to "read" the data. Lots of errors in that machine reading. Couldn't find me, well it helps when they have the family name right, which they didn't and when they had my Dad's name spelled wrong......... and a lot is really hard to read on the "photo copy". It looks like you can help fix it but I didn't go there today.

For those interested in this stuff you may be lucky or you may have to search a bit. Learned some new details so it was worth it.

I was able to find my paternal great-grandparents, in the same house in suburban Kansas City, KS where I visited as a kid in the mid-70's.

Even though I have a unique last name, that should show up in the search function, I haven't been able to find any other family members.

Thanks for posting this link.
