Unknown part in my Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 box
I just bought a shopsmith mark V Model 500
. It came with a box of accessories. I have an unknown part in the box I hope someone could identify. Please see my attachment and respond to me if you know what the part is.Re: Unknown part in my Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 box
Not really familiar with the model 10 an 10ER's but it appears that it could be a riving knife.
It appears that it could have come from a 10 or 10er

It does look kind of like a riving knife but it is definitely not from a Model 10.

bigmac75,
Welcome to the Shopsmith Forum.
I agree with John. It is not for a Model 10E or 10ER. Also, it is not anything I have seen for any of the Mark series tools. It may be a riving knife as suggested but for what. Something was obviously attached to the hole near the top. An overall measurement may help in identifying it. I have been restoring Shopsmith tools for some time now and it is very common to have non-Shopsmith parts with them. Someone here may have the answer but for now I can only tell you what it does not go to.

I was going by the style of the casting. Looks to be similar to castings used in the early mod 10 but I am not familiar enough with 10 or 10ER
