Ha! the wooden nickel, finally!

I keep trying to fight the high price of lumber by watching for hot deals. I spent this morning planing 50 bd ft of rough sawn Red Oak I bought about 2 months ago for $1 a board foot. As long as I manage to find deals like that, the price isn't bad yet.
The wood looked pretty bad rough sawn and a bit weathered, but it looks like premium lumber now that I have it planed and cleaned up.

When the Birch-Coins fail as currency you could use them for biscuit joints.

I think I will mint the walnut version I hear they will be worth more ?

I think you're on the right track there, HobbyMan. But why stop at Walnut? Ebony is has a much higher market value. And best of all, we can call them "Ebonezers"!

Aren't bitcoins made out of thin air? That might be more valuable than wood if you live in an area where the air is polluted.
