Why would my order from Shopsmith be delivered in a reused box rather than in a new box with logos that you would expect from a going concern? I don't want to assume or draw any conclusions.

Could you post a pic?

Possibly they were out of new boxes and didn't want you to have to wait for the new boxes to come in. I consider that a lame excuse really, you can go out and buy new boxes of any size and shape. I don't think having logos on it matters that much, but it is uncomfortable to see new goods show up in used boxes.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle? Fiscal responsibility (being cheap)? Supply chain issues? Somebody didn't want to walk across the room for a new box when a used one was right there? The potential reasons are limitless.

I wish more companies actually did this. Amazon is awful at even fitting a product into reasonably sized packaging.

Here are three pictures of the box...other than being opened by me and a pink sticky note placed over my address, this is how Shopsmith saw fit to ship its products to me. I don't care how "thrifty" one is being, this does not send a good message about things.

Shopsmith is a reasonable sized company. IMHO this is ridiculous. Honestly I wouldn't trust any shipment from a company of this size that comes in such a disheveled box without company logos. I would be appalled by this if that was the shipment I received...JMO.

I would agree with you RFGuy. I do not have a good feeling about things going forward.

Maybe supply chain issues? Trader Joes near me is using plastic Christmas shopping bags because they can't get their usual paper bags. But even so, shipping in a box that looks like that is pretty shocking. Have you contacted them about it?

I have not contacted SS about the matter but that is a good suggestion; if I knew how to contact the management of the company, I would. However, calling the 800 number and telling the rep on the line that the box is not a good representation of SS may go no further than "thank you for your call." If anyone knows how to inform the appropriate parties about this and can tell me, I will.

In contrast to my prior comments, that box is past it end of life. I would be appalled if anything I ordered showed up in that.
