Purchased this set at Woodcraft. Simply pull back the top, and release. You will have a good mark to start a pilot hole for nailing and you can use the set to countersink a nail. Also contains a 5/16 square faxce wood chisel. You should also purchase a companion piece that has- get this- a door hinge pin removal tool. Sure beats a hammer and a screwdriver! Has a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.

I got one last year from the Online Shop Class as a free tool. It saves having to use a hammer and nail punch. I was a little skeptical until I tried it and they do work as advertised. Found the link for their web site. Other places are also carrying them now.

I found the original spring tool so handy I order an entire set. I use them daily in a wide variety of tasks. Far more accurate than a punch or nail set. They are also fun to use. fjimp

Maybe I need to get one of these before I start laying out the holes for the index wheel.

The brad setter tools work great too. I'd recommend checking out the different sets available on Amazon.
