Have you repainted your Shopsmith speed changer dial or the logo plate. If so do you have any tips? I'm going to re-paint mine but it looks like it is going to be a real pain to tape the unpainted areas off.

I try to find simple ways of doing things. I use any 8" electric brass wire brush to remove all the loose paint on the Speed Changer Handle and Logo Cover. I use paint tape around the outside rim of each. I use Sunrise Red spray can paint and apply a good coat. I let dry for about 10 minutes, turn the handle or cover over/down in my hand and using several rags soaked with actone, I wipe off the paint on the raised parts. I try to do a batch of them at a time. I use another clean actone soaked rag for the final cleanup of the handle(s), cover(s) and myself.

I have done several handles and covers by just removing all the paint with the brass wire brush and leaving them shining. Not a bad look.
