I posted a video today introducing the use of the classic Wagner "Safe-T-Planer" to my viewers. I also compared it to the Medallion Rotary Planer, that was introduced to compete against it. Both of those tools are retired, but the StewMac "Safe-T-Planer" has filled in the void, and I'll be plying with that later in the week in a follow-up video. Yes, that's the same name Wagner trademarked, but when they abandoned the trademark it became public domain, just like Winnie The Pooh!

I used the Wagner and the Medallion almost weekly during my years working at Shopsmith, but I know that the Safe-T-Plane has been discussed here a bunch and I would sure appreciate any input you might have on its use. Scott

Hello Scott

I watched your video and these tools are interesting. The cost is reasonable enough that I could imagine buying one to have just in case it is useful on a yet-to-be-started project.

The cutting action of this Safe-T-Planer reminds me of the old Rockwell/Delta Uniplane I used to own. Do you remember, or have you ever used a Uniplane?

It is somewhat similar to the action of the Uniplane. I not only remember and have used a Uniplane, but I even have one waiting for me in Ohio, thanks to Chad Nevels! Scott
