Thanks edma194!

Ah, the ol' Shopsmith torch attachment 🤣

It really could be an old torch tip, here is a better pic

Definitely brass, the hole on the larger end is threaded like it had a locking screw at some point. That is why i thought maybe an adapter, but brass would be an odd choice for that...

Those vent holes do kinda maybe look torchy though

It looks very similar to the soldering tip for an old Bernz torch shown at this site, without the flat end tip attached. The 4th closeup pic shows this kind of part with the tip attached. Brass body torches used to come with a set of tips including a flame spreader and soldering tip. This could have been part of any of several specialty tips. I think brass construction makes it very likely.

It even has the threads where the soldering tip would screw in.

My dad had an old bernz-o-matic he would solder with.

Excellent catch!

#2 Is a clip often used with a pin on a receiver type trailer hitch or extensively used on tractors and such. Probably not required on a Model 10. Depends a bit on the size, usually goes through a hole in a 5/8" or larger pin. Example: https://www.homedepot.com/p/TowSmart-Cl ... /206798791

jsburger wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 11:34 am 5 and 6 are universal arbors. 6 is missing some washers.

7 and 8 are the posts that go on the wood aux table to hold the fence on the table.

9 is the stop rod that screws into the carriage to butt up against the head stock to center the blade in the insert.

To my knowledge none of the rest are 10E parts.
Thanks John, let me see if i get what you are saying...

These are universal arbors -

I am guessing the hole in these attach to the same shaft the drill chuck and everything else does, and then you use them to bolt on whatever attachment with the washers, sleeve, and nut?
It attaches to the quill and is used to hold a saw blade or dado blade etc..
And then these things are to attach and set the height of the table saw extension table?

No. The table saw fence has two vertical holes in it. Those posts attach vertically to the wood table top through holes drilled in it at the spacing of the holes in the fence. The fence is then droped on to the posts and secured with the wing nuts. This allows wider rip cuts to be performed than using the fence on the main table. The cut width is set by moving the head stock instead of the fence in this case.

My SS was used as a dedicated upright drill press for years before i got it, so some of the other configurations are still a mystery. Are you saying this thing assists with the table saw in some way?

On the carriage on the left side between the way tubes there is a threaded hole. That rod screws in the hole and sets the spacing of the carriage and head stock when the two are slid together.
Do you have a manual for your machine? That will help you see where parts go. If not go to the Maintenance and Repair topic. At the top there is a thread called "Shopsmith Large Format Drawings, Illustrations and More". You will find a downloadable manual there and a whole lot more.

Looks like an arbor bolt, but that doesn't make sense on an SS. Maybe it is just a bolt 🤷‍♂️
It is just a bolt.

Is obviously a handle for tightening a nut inline. It reminds me of a small version of the one that controls the saw table tilt -

Could it go to something else like the saw guard maybe?
20220724_132404.jpg
No. As I said before it is a not a SS part.

I think you are right David, this one does not look like an SS part

#3 might be the handle for a ball valve, or shut-off valve of some type.
